In a rainy day it rains all day long. It occurs in the rainy season.On this day sometimes it rains cats and dogs and sometimes it drizzles. The sky is overcast with clouds. The day looks gloomy in a rainy day. The sun seldom appears in the sky. The roads become muddy. Roads at places go under water. People do not feel well in a rainy day. They have to remain at home. So the people in the village often play cards on this day. They also gossip sitting together. The fish-hunters go out for fishing. The village women cook food by getting wet. Most of the children like a rainy day. They listen to stories sitting by their father or grandfather. They also like to bathe in the rain. So, they go out and gather round a ditch or a canal. They enjoy the sound of flowing rain water and the cries of the frogs. The school children become happy in a rainy day. They do not have to go to school. A rainy day greatly affects our economy. The poor and the day labourer suffer much in a rainy day. They cannot go out for work. The business centers remain closed. The labourers cannot go to the factory. So, the production of the mills and factories is hampered. Sometimes heavy downpour in a rainy day destroys crops. I spend a rainy day reading novels and watching television.
