Corruption is a serious evil and threat for a society in the way of development. It hampers the normal course of human life. Political corruption is the worst of all. It is the abuse by government officials of their official powers for illegitimate personal profit. In our country, all forms of government are tended to it. Bribery, extortion, nepotism, patronage, forging or graft and embezzlement are common political corruptions in our country. Corruption can make the easy of criminal enterprises like drug trafficking, money-laundering and trafficking. But it is not restricted to these organised crime activities. In some countries, corruption is so common that it is expected when ordinary businesses or citizens interact with government officials. Political corruption is nothing but a rule by thieves. Corruption poses serious development challenge. In a country, it undermines democracy and good governance by flouting or even destroying formal processes. Corruption in elections and in legislative bodies reduces accountability and distorts representation in policymaking. It compromises the rule of law in the judiciary. It results in the unfair provision of services in public administration. More generally, it erodes the institutional capacity of government. In this respect, procedures are disregarded. Resources are gained in an oblique way. Public offices are bought and sold. At the same time, corruption diminishes the legitimacy of a government. Trust and tolerance as the democratic values are in the mouth of threat. Therefore true democracy must be cultivated within the political parties and by political leaders to stop political corruption.
