Load shedding means the discontinuation of the supply of electricity. It mainly occurs when the generation of electricity is less than the demand. It also occurs due to unplanned distribution of electricity, unconsciousness of the relevant authority and for the illegal connections. Due to load shedding mills and factories come to stand still. Thus it hampers a country's socio-economic development. Besides, things kept in the refrigerators or cold storages get spoiled. Patients in the hospitals and student appearing at the examination hall suffer much. Load shedding is a curse. Therefore necessary steps should be taken to check it. The generation of electricity must be increased. Moreover, those associated with illegal connections must be punished. Most importantly the use of solar-energy should be encouraged.
